Tina is one of my oldest and best friends. She’s loyal, honest, talented, and lovely. We’ve known each other for 20 years and she’s been a kindred spirit, my confidante, and my biggest cheerleader. When her and Scott met and later became engaged, let’s just say, that I was thrilled. For her – because of the many conversations we’ve had through the years about love, loss, and finding the right guy to spend your life with. For Scott – because I knew how incredibly lucky he was to be spending his life with a woman as wonderful as my friend.
A while back Tina told me of a conversation between her and Scott about their past acquaintances and relationships. They asked each other about “the one who got away”. Her reply to him was “Scott, it was you.” This August, as they said their vows, and I listened and watched and took photographs, I thought of this conversation and was so thankful and grateful that they found their way across the miles and through the years to be together. To be in these moments with them on their wedding day seemed a bit surreal.
I am truly honored to have spent this day with them and beyond flattered that they placed so much confidence in me as a photographer to document and capture this especially important event in their lives.
