As much as I love the winter, I am always so happy to see my daffodils come up in the spring. Every year mid-March I buy a bunch or two for my windowsill to remind myself that spring is just around the corner.
Friday night was spent teaching my girlfriends how to make pierogi. It was a delicious and wonderful evening!
Found myself with a bag of clementines and a pint of organic blueberries that I couldn’t let go to waste. I added some fresh mint and the juice from half a lime and a teaspoon of blue agave nectar for sweetness. It was a sunny fruit salad on a cold winter night.
As much as I look forward to spring, I will miss days that are as beautiful as this.
Make homemade doughnuts and play in the snow, of course!
“I’ve heard tell that what you imagine sometimes comes true.”
― Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Zane just loves this book – even the second time around! This is not something that normally happens with my 9 year old and it really is a thrill for me when it does (especially when he is reading my childhood copy of one of my favorite books). He can’t seem to put it down once he is settled into bed and reading. I asked him what it is about this particular book that he loves so much. “Does it capture your imagination? Do you like the characters? What character do you relate to most?” His eyes widened and passionately he answered. “I just love chocolate!”
